For any question on abstract submission, please contact ITC2010abs@mci-group.com
- Abstracts received after the deadline will not be accepted and will therefore not be considered for the programme
or for publication.
- Abstract should be submitted electronically via the Congress web site: www.itc2010.com following the easy,
step-by-step instructions.
- Abstracts submitted by email will not be reviewed.
- All abstracts must be written in English.
- Abstracts must contain work that has not been previously presented at any national or international meeting
before March 2010.
- The authors' conclusions should be clearly stated. General statements such as "the significance of these
findings will be discussed" will be regarded unfavourably and will generally lead to exclusion of the abstracts.
- Initials and abbreviations which are not in common use should be avoided unless they are essential.
- Remember to check spelling and grammar carefully. Your electronically submitted abstract text will be
reproduced as submitted.
- All selected abstracts will be reproduced, as sent, in a CD-rom. There will be no abstract book.
- Submission of an abstract does not constitute registration for the congress. Submission of an abstract
implies the commitment that the presenting author will attend the meeting and the expectation that financial
resources to attend are available.
- YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS
The sister societies (AOTA, ATA, ETA, LATS) will award 8 Young Investigator Awards of 1000 euro each (4 for oral and 4 for poster presentations). For consideration for an award, the Young Investigator must be below the age of 40 at the time of the meeting and be the presenter and first author of an abstract submitted to the Congress. The applicants must tick the appropriate box during the abstract submission process. The preselection will be made by the Programme Organising Committee on the basis of the abstract score. The final selection will be made during the Congress, based on the quality of the oral or poster presentation. Winners will be announced on Thursday 16 September during the Closing Ceremony.
REVIEW PROCESS
- Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the POC and external reviewers without knowledge of their source.
- Acceptance or rejection of an abstract is based on the average grade awarded by the reviewers.
- Selected abstracts will be presented as oral presentations, during the Free Communications sessions, and as discussed posters or posters only. Apreference for poster presentation can be indicated although the Scientific Committee will make the final decision as to how the abstract will be presented.
- Some of the posters will also be selected for short oral presentation during the Poster discussion sections.
- Authors will be notified of the selection results by email in early June 2010 and will receive all technical information and presentation instructions prior to the Congress.
