Paris can easily be reached by plane, train or car, as it is located at the crossroads of Europe. It is served by two international airports (CDG and Orly) and a very convenient railway system. The shuttle buses from CDG airport arrive in front of the Palais des Congrès, which is also accessible through all Paris public transports.

For participants traveling within France to Paris by train on the occasion of the congress, special fares may be obtained with SNCF (French Railway Network).
Please request to the congress office the appropriate discount coupon by ticking the the appropriate box on the hardcopy or online registration form.
A fast and ever-developing means of transport, essential to the Parisian’s life, the metro is probably the best and quickest way to travel within the city.
Timetable: it operates from 5:30 am to 0:30 pm.

Local bus service is also available. Although slower than the Metro or the RER at certain hours of the day (depending on the traffic), the RATP buses (they are green) are frequent from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
The services are more irregular after 8:00 pm.
The Noctambus service (for night-birds) operates during the night: 10 bus routes lead from the heart of Paris.
Where can you find a taxi? At stations, airports and near main traffic thoroughfares in more than 470 taxi ranks. 14 900 taxis are in service in Paris. You can identify a free taxi by the light on its roof and hail it.
There will already be an initial charge on the meter. It is customary to leave a tip of up to 10% of the total fare.
The weather in Paris in September is usually warm and sunny with daily temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C.
Night temperatures may be milder between 12°C to 16°C.

Electricity used in France is 220 Volts; its frequency is 50 Hz and the plugs have two male contact points.
Plan to bring a transformer for your electrical or electronic equipment using different voltage (ie. USA, Canada).
